"Josephine"

I had a friend called Joe,
When friends were hard to find,
He had a restless soul,
And something on his mind,
One day I went away,
and then returned to the scene,
Not to find restless Joe no,
But to find Josephine,

I asked her what her game was,
She said Joe had left the scene,
I asked her what her name was,
And she said.......They call me Josephine.

It took a while to click,
But then I got the gist,
The girl by my side,
Was the guy I'd missed,
I took her for a beer,
To talk about old times,
Just to find that beer,
Was now a sweet white wine,

I asked her what her game was,
She said Joe had left the scene,
I asked her what her name was,
And she said.......They call me Josephine.

So we talked all night,
And I just can't pretend,
Although I lost old Joe,
I got a new girlfriend,

I asked her what her game was,
She said Joe had left the scene,
I asked her what her name was,
And she said.......They call me Josephine.
I asked her what her game was,
She said Joe had left the scene,
I asked her what her name was,
And she said.......They call me Josephine.

"Perseverance"

I was high on a molatov of cocktails,
I was low on a hundred things,
I was wrong to put my money where my mouth was,
I was right about the whales and the dolphins,
Whales and dolphins, whales and dolphins, yeah.
And I don't mind preserving time at all.

I was blue about the people in the power,
I was green that's my excuse,
I was yellow when they said to fight the reds,
'Cos I knew I'd be beaten black and blue,
Black and blue, battered and bruised, yeah.

Hold the line, just give it some time then (call)...

"Cor", what I like and what I hate about perseverance,
Ooh, what I'd give and what I'd take for perseverance.

I was round and about in the area,
I was square in my suit and tie,
I was lost in the Bermuda triangle,
It all went pear-shaped, twisted and twined,
Twisted and twined, twisted and twined, yeah.

And I don't mind preserving time at all.
Hold the line, just give it some time then (call)...

"Cor", what I like and what I hate about perseverance,
Ooh, what I'd give and what I'd take for perseverance.

I was lost on the road to nowhere,
I was a guest on a runaway train,
I was happy 'cos I knew I was innocent,
They were glad to let me take the blame,
Taking the blame, taking the blame, taking the blame,
It's always the same 'cos

I... what I like and what I hate about perseverance,
Ooh, what I'd give and what I'd take for perseverance,
I haven't time, I haven't space for perseverance,
'Cos I swap and change just when I like to keep up appearance.

"Oblivion"

If all the people in the world camped out in your back garden,
Would you write and tell the king or would you grab a tent and join 'em,
I can see that all the possibilities for freedom,
Could just sway your first decision to subject them all to oblivion.
And do you feel your life is threatened by fabricated stories,
Dreamt up by the sons of campers that you killed back in the forties,
I could see that all the possibilities for conflict,
Could just back up your decision to subject them all to oblivion.

I can't stand the things that they do to me,
I won't wait for Jesus to prove to me.

When all the people in the world move out of your back garden,
Would you celebrate the passing of your life as Mr. Badman,
You could see that all the possibilities in peacetime,
Should force a new decision don't subject them all to oblivion.

I can't stand the things that they do to me,
I won't wait for Jesus to prove to me.
I can't stand the things that they do to me,
I won't wait for Jesus to prove to me.

Oh goodness, my gracious, I hope its not contagious,
Although it seems its catching it's best not to get careless.
Oh goodness, my gracious, I hope its not contagious,
Although it seems its catching it's best not to get careless.
